Hypophosphorous Acid (Phosphinic Acid) is a water soluble, clear colorless liquid known for its strong reducing properties. Hypophosphorous Acid is widely used across the pharmaceutical, polymer, chemical and surface treatment industry.
Widely used a reducing agent in various organic and inorganic chemical reactions. It is used in the manufacturing of phosphinate esters, reduction of arenediazonium salts and other organophosphorous compounds.
Polymer and Resin catalyst
Acts as a polymerization initiator in certain polymerization and polycondensation reactions.
Antioxidant and color stabilization
Acts as a color stabilizer in high temperature polymerization reactions. Serves as an antioxidant in synthetic resin preventing coloration and degradation during processing and storage. Helps prevent yellowing of resin due to UV induced degradation
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Used as a reducing agent in manufacturing of pharmaceutical intermediates, especially where selective reduction is required. Also stabilizes the compound and prevents oxidation in certain formulations.
Water Treatment and Metal Recovery
Used for reducing metal ions in industrial water treatment plants. It is used to recover precious metals from chemical solutions in selective extraction processes.
Agriculture
Used as a reaction intermediate for making herbicides and as a Phosphorous source in fertilizers.
