Chemical Synthesis
Widely used a reducing agent in various organic and inorganic chemical reactions. It is used in the manufacturing of phosphinate esters, reduction of arenediazonium salts and other organophosphorous compounds.

Hypophosphorous Acid CAS 6303-21-5 is a powerful monobasic Phosphorus oxyacid with chemical formula H3PO2. It is a water-white clear colourless liquid soluble in water, alcohol and ether.

Hypophosphorous acid is the only P-oxyacid where Phosphorus exists in +1 oxidation state. This makes it an important component of several industries.
- Antioxidant and Color stabilizer in Polymers and Resins
Hypophosphorous acid is an important antioxidant and decoloring agent in polymers such as polyesters, alkyd, polyamides. It prevents yellowing especially in high temperature esterification reactions.
- Reduction of Arenediazonium salts
Hypophosphorous acid is widely used as a reducing agent for arenediazonium salts. When these salts are reduced in hypophosphorous acid, they form arenes and the hypophosphorous acid is oxidized to Phosphoric acid.
